Birth: August 6, 1949 Transition: January 12, 2021
Michael Bonamer was born the son of June Mansch and George Bonamer on August 6, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. Having lived the fullness of his incarnation, Michael transitioned 71 years later, on January 12, 2021 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Michael served in the Army from 1969-1971. Upon his return from service, Michael met his guru, Goswami Kriyananda and began his studies in Kriya Yoga.
In time, Michael completed certification as a professional astrologer, hatha yoga and meditation teacher. He completed all academic training in the Temple of Kriya Yoga Seminary, ultimately deciding to forgo ordination. He continued to deepen his practice and study with his guru for close to 50 years.
Michael moved to Colorado in the early 1980's. With Goswami Kriyananda's encouragement and support, Michael opened the Kriya Yoga Center, a Center for Spiritual Studies, and began to share the teachings of Kriya Yoga with others. Through the center, Michael taught astrology, yoga philosophy, meditation and hatha yoga. He offered inspirational Sunday meditations, private astrology readings, and one on one spiritual guidance until his transition.
Many of Michael's loved ones have left the earth before him including his parents and beloved guru, Goswami Kriyananda. Many others remain upon the earth; his beloved companion, Jacqueline Lofland, his sisters Linda, Carla and Karen, his brother Jon, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, fellow disciples of Goswami Kriyananda, and loving dedicated students and friends.
May the memory of his goodness and his good deeds fill your mind with happiness each time that his image comes to your mind. May you reflect that goodness back to him as a gift reminding him of his goodness.
We will meet Michael again, at the right time, the right place and in the right way.
